Even when carried out under the best conditions, the work of extracting gold remains extremely polluting for our planet:
Deforestation
Excessive water consumption
Emergence of illegal supply chains
Working conditions
To date, there is enough extracted gold to cover the demand of the entire jewellery industry for the next 50 years. For this reason, Michael Dürnholz has chosen to work exclusively with recycled gold. This environmentally responsible approach was decided upon more than 15 years ago already.
All diamond creations can be made with either natural diamond or lab-grown diamond, also known as lab-grown.
Knowing the provenance of a diamond is certainly important, but it often proves impossible, with the exception of lab-grown diamonds.
The only way to be sure of not buying a ‘conflict diamond« is to opt for a lab-grown diamond.
A diamond mine has to extract 1.75 tonnes of earth in order to find a single carat of diamond. Consequently, lab-grown diamonds represent a much greener and more ethical option.
Lab-grown diamonds possess both inner and outer beauty. On the one hand, they are beautiful to look at and, on the other hand, because they are ecologically and socially responsible, they stand out for their inner beauty.
Michael Dürrholz, highly talented jeweller, and his team, equally devoted to creativity, take you into an almost magical universe through their unique jewellery collections. The workshop is a reference that can be cited far beyond Eupen.
